Based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and working in close association with the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the Pedicord Lab seeks to gain mechanistic insights into the influence of the microbiota on local and systemic immune responses.
Applications are invited for a bioinformatics-focused Postdoctoral Research Associate to explore the mechanisms by which commensal microbes affect disease susceptibility.
Working closely with other members of a small lab, the post holder will facilitate the establishment of bioinformatic tools and pipelines for the lab and lead studies to investigate microbiota modulation of host physiology. This will involve using microbial metagenomics and microbial and host transcriptomics to characterize the complex interactions between the intestinal epithelium, immune cells and commensal microbial community. The ideal applicant will love scientific investigation, have a good work ethic and excellent organization skills, be detail-oriented, persistent, and passionate about working as a team to answer important questions.
